About Byron Bay Wildlife Tours and it's founder "Richo"
About Richo:
Since moving to the Byron Bay region fourteen years ago, I have spent ten years working in "outdoor tourism' as a guide for surfing tours, mountain bike tours, mountain climbing tours and Nimbin tours. If there was one thing that stood out during this time was the level of excitement whenever customers had a 'chance meeting' with native wildlife.
I have always been fascinated by wildlife and in 2003 I decided to set out and explore this unique region to 
see how many different species of mammal and bird I could find within 100km of Byron Bay. I always knew this area was highly underrated as a wildlife destination, but I was very surprised to find 31 different species of native mammal and at least 120 species of birdlife. In late 2004 I started 'Byron Bay Wildlife Tours". I didn't want our tours to get by on waterfalls, picnics of lookouts - Viewing native mammals and birds is the sole focus of all our tours. I also wanted potential customers to be sure that they would actually see what they were paying for, so all tours are either guaranteed or in the case of the platypus tour a 50% refund if we can't find the animals.
