Tour Diary - May 2009
We had a great experience in May, I took part in a survey/trapping
of one of my favourite Australian mammals the 'Quoll'. This is a
Marsupial Carnivore, half Tassie Devil half Possum. Like so many of our
mammals it's endangered, it was amazing to be so close to this
fascinating creature.
Also saw the worlds largest Gliding Possum the Greater Glider, both creatures have been on my list of mammals to find for ages, so to get them both in a 12hr period was extremly satisfying. The study was done with NSW Parks & Wildlife & seeing new creatures for the 1st time myself gave me an insight of what it is hopefully like for my customers to view & appreciate the amazingly special mammals we have in Australia.
